Makers Move – a medium of exchange, selected guests. 2. Vol. 2013. Technical data: 24 pages, full-colour, 148 x 190 mm. A publication of the continuation of Makers Move – a medium of exchange. The publication contains stories from selected guests Makers Move invited, people with background in Anthropology, Ethnology, Conservation, Poetry and Fine Arts. The focus is on an aspect of jewellery that we often neglect – a personal and relational one – and the meanings that emerge in the exchange between object and wearer over time, which often has profound symbolic layers. Here are layers that reach far beyond the actual value of the jewellery and beyond what we see when jewellery is worn or exhibited. Layers that can incorporate past and present, wearer and giver, stages and places in life.
